Artist History
Even though the idea of Chaosdaemon had been whirling in the mind of Johansson for quite some time, the duo didn’t become official until early –98. Johansson asked his co-musician and friend Lagerlund if he would be interested in participating in a project that eventually would evolve into Chaosdaemon. The duo had already been working together for many years with different bands, i.e. Ringhorne and Impious. (Not to be mistaken for the DM-band Impious from Trollhättan – Sweden)After a few rehearsals, Chaosdaemon spawned two songs, The Depths Of The Black Beyond and The Dreaming Dead Awaked, and recorded them with only a 4-tracker, a compressor and a reverb. That was in February 1998. After that, other priorities made the duo put Chaosdaemon aside for a while. Johansson moved away from Sundsvall to study and Lagerlund was (and still is) handling the drums in the swedish BM-band Sargoth.Through his studies, Johansson got access to an excellent studio – Bothnia Studion, located in Haparanda Sweden, and as a final project in his studies, he brought Lagerlund to Haparanda to record a promotion CD. The first two songs were re-recorded along with a third song, The Return Of The Ancient Ones, and finally, at the end of June –99, Chaosdaemon had a promotion CD with excellent sound. What the future has in mind for Chaosdaemon is uncertain, a contract with a record label would of course mean a full length album, though no one knows what to expect from life. |
