Artist description Catherine was born into a musical family of pianists and singers. Her formal music education began at age 8, and over the next ten years she completed eight grades of study in Piano and Theory of Music with the Royal Schools of Music, Cambridge, England. Catherine is a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. There she majored in Church Music with a piano emphasis.Catherine’s experience in the field of music has been varied, including serving as Minister of Music at three different churches, chairing the music department at the West Indies School of Theology, and touring and recording with a female ensemble which she started in 1981. It was this group that sparked the songwriting flame in Catherine. In addition to writing over twenty songs for The Bethel Sisters, Catherine also wrote and arranged music for choirs and soloists. Being a lover of the old hymns of the faith, she enjoyed placing these classic lyrics in contemporary tune settings. At present Catherine continues to write in the Praise and Worship genre, but her songs are easily translated into a variety of styles and arrangements for soloists, choirs and ensembles. In addition to writing, Catherine also does vocal and choral coaching, Praise & Worship workshops and seminars, and itinerant teaching and preaching engagements.
