Artist description
Hampster-slappin' punk-rockabilly from San Francisco. We're not one of those straight traditional rockabilly bands that talks about how much we "rock out" and how "wild" we are but then are really staid and boring. We're more like a punk band with a rockabilly flavor. And good clothes, but not from "Hot Topics." |

Press Reviews
This San Francisco punkabilly outfit harnesses the energy of a case-full of Pop Rocks then adds its own goofy charm to the legacy of Elvis. --Seattle Weekly // The Smokejumpers infuse humor and a streak of lunacy into their fast-paced tunes. Band members often jumpall over the place on stage, and sometimes into the audience while playing their instruments. --Bakersfield Californian // The group's new "Flat Tear It Up!" disc is notmisnamed. The 'Jumpers wrap hilarious words around revved up, three-chord, on-the-mark rock 'n' roll. --San Antonio News-Express // A prediction: The Smokejumpers debut CD -- "Flat Tear It Up!" -- will become a wee-hours FM favorite, blasting from the broken-knob radio in your car, a howl of rockabilly carrying you through the night. --San Francisco Examiner --- More at http://www.smokejumper.com/critics.html |
