    Artist History
Stash Kovac is an American Rock and Roll Superhero. Though currently residing in California, he was conceived in a convent in Kentucky and born and reared in Davenport, Iowa. An Eagle Scout, National Merit Scholar, former spelling bee champion, and holder of a career 3-24 high school wrestling record, Mr. Kovac is a veteran of inumerable basement 4-track projects including, but not limited to, Chaos Theory, Dead Heinrich, Critical Mass, and Rupert Ursus. Under the name Leroy, he and frontman Mr. Usted headed up the seminal goofcore outfit Incestous Poultry throughout the mid-to-late-90s. He filled in on bass guitar in the booty-shaking Iowa City rock machine known as 5 O'Clock Charlie in the spring of 1998. It was during that time that he acquired his current nom de rock. After that spring, Stash headed west with his new electrical engineering degree to study semiconductor optoelectronics at UC-Santa Barbara and maybe do a little digital multitracking in his spare time. His first full-length release "Where The Geeks Have No Shame" was released in December 1999. Mr. Kovac is currently performing solo w/ acoustic guitar at various locations in the Santa Barbara area.

    Press Reviews
(review of Where The Geeks Have No Shame)"This CD reeks of 'I want to be a rock star' so badly you might need to air it out after your first listen. Not just 'I want to be a rock star,' but 'I need to be a rock star because that's the only thing that will save my life.' Songs like 'Riding the Pine', 'Someday I'll Get Laid', and 'I'm Gonna Be a Rock Star' reveal, without too much subtlety, the lonely geek who retreats to his room with his guitar because that's the only action he can get. But Kovac, who played and produced everything on this disc, not only learned how to play that guitar, he also learned how to write and record songs. And, as the title indicates, he learned to revel in his geekiness. So after taking a breath, slip the CD back in and enjoy Kovac's caustic wit and clever songwriting, all propelled with a rocking performance that certainly sounds larger than a single musician. Kovac could well become the musical spokesperson for geeks everywhere."-G. Murray Thomas, SKRATCH Magazine #51 (May 2000)
