Artist description
A "Progressive acoustic" contemporary folk/alternative group flaunting a unique combination of sounds. Thought provoking vocals, excellent harmonies, and intricate violin and viola solos abound throughout the music. Song styles range from upbeat pop to soft reflective with an occational jazz and reggae tune. When asked what kind of music they play, members of the band might respond, "Imagine if The Bo Deans, The Violent Femmes, The Cranberries, and Elvis Costello were all stranded on a desert island, with no electricity." |

Artist History
Remember Rome was founded in 1995 by songwriters Jim Papandrea (formerly of The Neumes) and Lisa Weyerhaeuser, after Jim returned from a summer at the American Academy in Rome, studying the history of the Roman Empire, and the topography and archaeology of the city of Rome. In 1997, they were joined by Joel Robinette on percussion and Patrick Horn on violin and viola. The progressive acoustic sound of Remember Rome has been described as "earthy folk." |
