Artist description
"Philip Sayce - Blues with a psychedelic twist" Philip Sayce is a 23 year old blues artist born in Wales, and presently residing in Toronto, Ontario (Canada). Many have labeled him as "A Blues Prodigy" and "A Canadian Jimi Hendrix"...This would be due to his guitar-slinging wizardry of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan not to mention his great vocal range to match. Philip Sayce has a style that combines a raw rock sound with traditional blues. He played for one of Canada's most renowned blues bands, The Jeff Healey band for almost 2 years, has shared the stage with the likes of B.B. King, The Robert Cray band and more. Now with his own band he's leaving audiences astounded with his intense performances. His first release (self-titled) on Hypnotic Records in 1996 brought him a great deal of world wide attention especially in Finland where he still is asked back on a regular basis. He is presently recording some new material which will be used for his newest album -likely available in early 2000. |
