Artist description
"Measure is no-nonsense, cut-to-the-chase indie rock," states Brenden Wolfe, reviewer for ICON Entertainment Weekly. Wolfe goes on to say, "Measure play tightly crafted, melodic power pop that sets a pretty high standard for bands across the state." High praise indeed for one of the up and coming bands from Iowa. Lead by vocalist Amy Gustafson's high power vocal talents, this quartet lay out a spread of heavy guitars, big drums, and driving bass. Measure is known for it's powerful delivery of catchy riffs, movable grooves, and impressive vocals. Once the word gets out Iowa won't be able to keep this band a secret for long. |

Artist History
Measure formed in 1995 with the convergence of talent, drummer Don Colton, guitarist Jon Chamberlain, and vocalist Amy Gustafson started to write the first tunes that would eventually become the foundation for the bands solid playlist. Soon the final piece of the puzzle was fitted with bassist Bret Miller. Measure has since performed to numerous capacity crowds and shared the stage with the likes of Sister Soleil, Frogpond, My Scarlet Life, House Of Large Sizes, N.I.L.8, Mercy Rule, Planet Melvin to name only a few. To date, Measure has released the self titled 4 song cassette, and 1997s CD-EP,'Measure Spins Their Top Hits' on their own label, Bulbous Records. Measure will be releasing it's first full length CD "Pass Thru" in January 2000. With this new CD the band will be pursuing bigger shows and a record deal. ROCK ON! |
