    Artist History
I got started in the relatively late-breaking punk/new-wave scene in Tucson in 1980. I played bass and wrote/sang some of the songs in the PHANTOM LIMBS, a band that has never really completely broken up. I did two tapes for ICONOCLAST INTERNATIONAL in the early 80s -- SOUNDS OF SUCCESS and LIFEBOY. ICONOCLAST was run by LEE JOSEPH out of a briefcase in his small record store in Tucson, ROADS TO MOSCOW. JOSEPH later founded neo-psychedelic label DIONYSIUS in Los Angeles. In 1987 I threw together a bunch of stuff I had recorded on a tape called RARE MUTANT CACTUS. I basically gave it away to my FRIENDS. I occassionally play with Tucson "supergroup" THE FRAIDY CATS: AL PERRY, TOMMY LARKINS (drummer with Jonathan Richman) and JEFF KEENAN (PHANTOM LIMBS main dude). I am the least "super" member, and my name never appears in the papers -- hence my inferiority complex. The heck with those guys anyway, who needs 'em?! I've recently been writing songs for JULIA GROVES (former AL PERRY AND THE CATTLE drummer) and her hard-rockin' girl group CLOVENHOOF.

    Press Reviews
"Parks fires it up with rock 'n' roll tunes, then gently strums through engaging, heartfelt, Dylan-esque Folk-Punk ballads. Genuine and sharp-witted, Parks' social commentary throws a big finger to those with trumped up idealism -- then apologizes afterwards." - Kelly Bauman, LISTEN.COM
