Artist description
As a band and label, domizil aims to serve as a platform for a loose cooperation between musicians and artists, coordinating and ensuring exchange. domizil's structure, which is minimal compared to that of conventional labels, will make possible interdisciplinary and topical projects and events, as well as domizil's own productions, which will take place at permanent or temporary venues. These productions could include the acoustic components of an entire project, exhibitions or publications by groups or individual artists, as well as CD or demotape productions. The concept for domizil evolved from the participants' wish for an independent structure of experimental electronic music in Zurich/Switzerland. In its role as a low commercial project domizil tries to summarise its purpose in the maxim of exchange. At the same time it is the ear of k3000, a cooperative network of Zurich art producers. In this framework domizil organises concerts and events of various forms, adopting the concept of contemporary salon events. Domizil serves as a homebase for a constantly increasing network, whose field of interest spans from contemporary art to current electronic music. |
