Two years going strong, making waves all over the Midwest. Riding a high energy show, aggressive vocals, and adventurous music this band sits perched at the top of their local scene (Lexington, KY.) Having recieved some world-class attention lately, their future plans include taking the show to the Big Apple around the turn of the year. Press Reviews
This band is from Kentucky? You wouldn't think so! This is a prime example of the lead singer being PART OF the band rather than the band backing her up. The vocals are pretty wild here. -"Chicks Who Rock" station. . . . "To hear the name Delicious Trip Attendants is to envision a group of individuals who attend a delicious trip. With the release of their first CD, Fly By, DTA do not merely attend the trip, they enhance the trip. . . . Fly By IS a trip. At different intervals, the listener can find snippets of everything from Chicago and Steely Dan to Return to Forever and (briefly) Pantera. Such a wide range of sounds on a single album could suggest either extreme dissonance or extreme coherence. In the case of Delicious Trip Attendants, it is the latter. . . . One of the qualities that make Delicious Trip Attendants unusual is the ability of vocalist Melissa Jackson-Nolan. In keeping with the name of the band, the music on Fly By is groove-oriented funk met head-on by heavy psychedelic rock. Jackson-Nolan adds to the mix in that she does not merely sing, but uses her voice as an instrument."-Ace Magazine. . . . 'Best New Band of 1999 Winners!'-Ace Magazine |
