Artist description
YUD (Young Urban Disciple) is a studio project. I'm trying to make a sort of different kind of music, a combination of different styles, (anything from metal to ambient) with a primary role for the guitar combined with some synths, drums, voices...the heart of my studio is a big pc (pentium IV) with Protools LE/Digi001, a few guitars (Ibanez, Fender), guitar effects Boss Me-10, synth Roland JV2080, masterkeyboard Roland A70, midi-interface Emagic Amt8, Lexicon effects Mpx100, monitors Alesis M1, some sample-cd's for the drums and thats it!. |

Artist History
I started playing guitar when i was 20 years old, at that time I wanted to become as good as Jimi Hendrix. It took me about 7 years before I started playing in bands, at first coverbands. It was in 1995 when I joined the grunge band Galgamasj and i moved to the city of Rotterdam. There i lived a real rock'n roll life for 3 years, when the band split up in 1997, i started to write my own material. Begin 1999, after I moved to the little city Nootdorp, I started recording in my own home-studio.There I spend now most of my free time, recording my songs with guitar, keyboards and computers. Since begin of 2002 i move to the very small town Sellingen. |

Listen.com: One-man project combines spacey synthesizers and laid-back beats with contemplative melodies. YUD (short for Young Urban Disciple) likes to experiment with new clusters of sounds.Interface (Dutch music magazine): YUD suprised us with a cd full of beautiful ambient-like guitarsongs with a unique style...very pleasant to listen! |
