Artist History
Wales Road is the musical expression of Tom Wales,Christian singer, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player from upstate NY.
The VISION of Wales Road is to glorify God in the Creative Arts.
While growing up on a dairy farm in a small town in PA, Tom (who is a leftie) taught himself how to play guitar using his brother's right handed guitar!
Tom began writing his own songs in college. His roommates nicknamed him 'Rev.Rock' and referred to his personal style of 'heart on the sleeve' lyrics as 'Tommy conviction tunes'.
After graduation from Elim Bible Institute with a Degree in Biblical Studies, Tom realized his true calling as a 'musicianary' while playing in an number of Christian rock bands and performing acoustic shows.
Wales Road recordings range in musical style from neo-folk to acoustic and electric blues to classic rock'n'roll.
Lanny Auchter (who has recorded in N.Y.C and toured extensively on the east coast) began pounding and thrashing on drums for Wales Road on the Candleshine album.
(a groundbreaking classic rock release recorded at FLCC Studios by Rick Wyffels).
Tom Sluberski (graduate of SUNY Fredonia in Music/Communications ) contributed keyboards on Candleshine and handles bass & BGV's on the critically acclaimed 'Farmers' CD.
( a 3 piece band project recorded at Studio X by Dave Sluberski , who has recorded notable artists such as
Robert Cray,Taj Mahal,Dan Toler,Dave Brubeck and Michael Hedges).
Wales Road has fronted many different musical faces down thru the years (acoustic duo, four piece rock band, musical trio )
but one thing has remained the same,
a committment to share the Love of Jesus thru music.
Wales Road has been performing in churches, coffee houses and festivals since 1994.
Attracting a loyal following of fans affectionately nicknamed 'Wales Roadies',this is
one energetic concert act not to miss! |
