Artist History
No, not that band of gangsters with the big car but a Rock Band from South Wales in the U.KThey formed in no man's land on the border of England and Wales sometime in 1994. The band began life as a group of buskers who would play anywhere for a free drink and soon built up a loyal local following. They became renowned for making appearances at most music events, parties and festivals. While still having day jobs, 1996 saw The Anthill Mob play over 100 Gigs including their first appearance at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.During this year the band released their first self financed Album '5 PAST NINE AT THE DINER' which was widely described as 'Street Folk'.By 1998 The Anthill Mob had really hit their stride as 'Smalltown' the bands second studio recording proved. The songs were powerful slices of the life that we all live.'Smalltown' is a collection of songs about real life, written by real people.Once again they were asked back to play Glastonbury where they played a set in torrential conditions at what was called the Festival Of Mud.The Anthill Mob have never written to any form and are definitely not a fashion accessory. |
