Artist History
Well it all started in back in 1974. Under the sign of Gemini, I was born in to this world we live. Growing up, I was always interested in music. I can remember playing my brothers' clarinet when I was about the age of 6 or 7. I've changed musical interests rampantly throughout my life. When I was younger, my mom used to blast the oldies station while cleaning the house. Even though I really wasn't digging it, it was music. I could hear the different levels of sound and instruments. So I began a search to find music. I was looking for anything but oldies. The First artist that I truly got into was Madonna. When I was in the 5th grade, I remember going to the "Like a Virgin Tour". The Beastie Boys opened up for her. This was my first concert and my first experience with hip-hop. I instantly fell in love with this new form of music. I searched the radio for any type of R&B, Hip-Hop and Soul. Soon I had a bunch of tapes and 45's of groups such as: Grand Master Flash, Kool and the Gang, Parliament, Herbie Hancock, Whodini, Rick James, Run DMC, LL Cool J, and The Fat Boys. As the music changed so did I. I started looking for newer music and newer styles. I hit the age when the club scene was where it was happening. There was a form of music emerging across the cost called Freestyle. Freestyle amazed me. The music made you want to dance. It had a sensual rhythm and funky beats. The bass was nice. I loved watching all the girls at the club get down and dance to Lil Suzy, TKA, and Johnny O. As I grew more in love with the club music, another side of me was seeing some changes also. Nirvana hit the scene after I graduated high school. The strength of the distorted guitars made my hair stand up. It was total opposite of any other music I've ever enjoyed. I was always influanced by smooth rhythms and dancey beats. The grunge sound made me go buy a guitar and some effects pedals. I joined a band called Beanhead and we rocked crowds all across the county. The band slowly drifted apart before we got big. As this was all going on, I still had my urge to dance. I like watching people get down and groove to the beats. As the Rave scene slowly emerged in the early 90s, rock music started getting taken over by pop music. I started going to parties around 94-95. I was amazed. I never felt so at home as I did in this scene. The people I met and grew closer to, were amazing. Traveling all over the country just to go to the next best party. The crowds were euphoric and the music has pumpin. At one party I went to, there was a smaller room. As I entered into this room, my eyes lit up. My body started to move on its own. "What is this music?" I thought to myself. I made my way up to the front. As I got up close, an mc jumped out of the booth and started rapping. Right then and there I fell in love with Drum and Bass. The rhyming over the fast beats and the distorted bass lines made the hair on my arms stand at attention. Ever since that day I decided this is the music that I want to listen to. I started of DJing around 97-98. I loved making the people on the floor move to what I was playing. I never took DJing too seriously. I did it for the love of the music. I've DJed with the likes of: Grooverider, Aphrodite, SoulSlinger, L Double, Phantom 45, Notorious J, J. Smooth, DJ Dara, Perfect Combination, Source Direct, Konflict, Footloose and Skibadee. I've never been all about the money end of music. My career as a web designer takes care of that. I've just been working on the producing end of things latley. The scene I loved so much has been changing slowly. As I grow older, I also grow less fond of what the rave scene has become. So I just stick with the music. Now, this is what I bring to you. I released my first CD entitled "Sempiternity". This is my first production release. Check for it in a store near you. If they don't have it, tell them they are missing out on one of the best drum and bass cd of the year. If your search ends up dry, You can write me and I'll send you out one. This CD represents what I love about music. I hope It touches you like it did me. Thank you for your support and KEEP THE MUSIC ALIVE! |
