Press Reviews IDAHO SENIOR NEWS: Olive Davis and Friends Preserve Those Favorite Old Songs.....In 1960,Olive Fairchild(Now Olive Davis) wrote "An Old CountryDance". For the past 40 years, she has played that song and otherold favorites on her piano, becoming a well loved fixture at senior centers and Elks Clubs throughout the Treasure Valley.Her son, Mike Fairchild, grew up lisening to these classics.Often, he'd fall asleep to them behind the band at gigs.When he got a little bigger, he joined the band playing drums-he was 9 years old.Mike is grown now and last year he sat down withOlive to begin work producing her first recording.They went through nearly 200 songs, slowly narrowingthem down to the best of the best including Olives'own "An Old Country Waltz" and "Idaho Polka" writtenby Jenny Thompson of Payette. They wanted to insurethat these songs would not be lost.Bob and Jim Comstock, two brothers from Nampa, hadbeen playing with Olive off and on for years and came on board for this project. But they didn't have a singer. Along came Jenny Boone from Placerville. She Begansinging Karaoke at age 13 and it soon became obviousto family and friends that she had a real talent.When Mike and Olive heard her, they knew she was the onefor their project.They recorded their long awaited CD in 1998 and calledit "Old Country Dance". Olive was 64 years old and a recording artist at last.Response to the recording from Idaho seniors has beentremendous.
