    Artist History
Headtrap Music began in the sands of Ocean Beach California with the intent of musical experimentation and support of local artists through low cost recording and artist development. Founders Mike Head and Tom Trapp were their own best guinea pigs as well as the first few bands we recorded on a cassette four track for free. Headtrap now runs a full 16 track, 48 input console studio with automation and CD mastering. We help distribute all of the signed and unsigned bands we work with, and have our publishing wing through ASCAP. _________________________________ Tom Trapp writes under the moniker Big White Light (& Skip de Bull), building exciting alternative and pop rock compositions. The Big White Light has been writting and performing since the early 1980's. Its roots derived from the Orange County, Ca. techno scene ..ie..Berlin, Stacey Q, Minutemen and The Casbah/Formula one recording studios of the 80's. The band has used many great musicians over the past 20. Nearly signed to Geffen records in 1989. ________________________________________________ Mike Head runs Headtrap Music Studio day to day and spends most of his time recording bands and developing the business. He has helped numerous bands record their demos and CDs, and has produced award nominated compilations as well as nationally distributed artists. Formerly releasing material as Blood Fruit and now solo, he was also lead guitarist for such diverse artists as hard rockers GSS and (techno-blues band) Big White Light. He takes all styles of music and blends them into a retro amalgamation of modern sounds. With blues and pop as the foundation Mike scales the walls of harmony and production into his own futuristic planet rock. Mike and Tom both continues to help local San Diego artists as well as occasionally slipping into the studio and building his own little symphonies.

Great guitar sounds and use of effects and reverb... Done on an eight track but sounds like a pro 24. ” - Recording Magazine ________________________________ “What’s in the mix? A little pop, rock, disco (yes, I said disco), funk, classical and folk. I believe they are happy ... making music any way they damn well please.” -F*%$ Yeah! Fanzine ____________________________ “This (Lake Ariana) is worth some cash” -Icuras was Right ___________________________ “Michael doesn’t play guitar, he sings through it.” Rodney ‘D’ Plus Megazine
