The band is known throughout Austin for their raucous live shows and for their penchant for attracting spirit guides (just ask them about their 'studio spirit' and about the mysterious sweating walls in bassist Nemo Febonio's home office.. ) and other worldly creatures. Artist History The 5 girls who make up 10'' MARIA all found themselves drawn to the ''House of Misfit Toys'' 5 years ago having come from oppositeends of the country to get there (Salem MA, Seattle, WA, Florida and Texas.) Each member brings quite a lot of emotional baggage to10'' MARIA, which gives the band its edge and prevents them from being pidgeon-holed as ''just another girl band''!

Press Reviews I just received this sizzling hot pink five-song EP from local queens of punk, 10" MARIA. Infamous throughout Austin for their raunchy livewire shows, this EP showcases the stark truth found in their songs' intelligent lyrics, ones that dare to tackle uncomfortable topics like stalking, rape, and phony baloney people. My favorite cuts are the painfully honest "Just Jane," and "Punk Kitty" kicks ass. These are grrls of the '90s, hear 'em roar!
