Press Reviews Vitki was given life in 1997 by Fred Carpenter. The image of Carpenter on the cover of this CD suggest that it's the guy next door strumming on an electric guitar. This may be so. Do not be mislead by this very simple image. This CD is a avalanche of instrumental rock. Varying degrees of intensity and styles are the focus and intent of the artist. All is done extremely well with an ultimate vision in mind. Carpenter restrains the animal inside or turns him loose at a moments notice. The end result is a tremendously successful album that's solid from start to finish. You are apt to hear the subtle nuances of keyboards then a raging guitar cut loose all in the same track. To keep you on your toes each song takes a different approach enhanced with a new twist. It's right out front and rockin' or gentle and quiet, there is no middle ground here. The point is driven home in a very convincing way with masterful guitar strokes. If the blade on this knife is stone, it's razor sharp and cuts to the bone. I really enjoyed this instrumental treat.
