Artist History
Jim Larsen and Robert Pacheco got together in 1991 to write some songs and play a few gigs. Larsen was a 20 year veteran of the Canadian music industry having played with many bands over the years, one of which was 70s Epic recording artists, Hellfield (see http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusicPopEncycloPagesH/hellfield.html ). Pacheco had been bouncing around from band to band on the west coast for years as well. They found that Larsens sense of melody and Pachecos knack for writing lyrics complemented each other well and have been writing together ever since. In 1995 they released their first cassette of original material simply entitled "The Mustangs". All instruments on the recording were played by Larsen and Pacheco as well as background midi orchestrations arranged and programmed by the two. It was also recorded and produced by the two in their own home studio. Their music has been labeled "Country Rock" by some, but although it does contain elements of those two genres, it is also much more than that incorporating elements of folk, blues, R&B, pop and just about every other category of music giving it a unique sound. They are currently writing and recording material for their second effort, which is due for release in 2003. |

Press Reviews
Canadian country rockers the Mustangs blend Everly Brothers-style harmonies with gentle acoustic picking to achieve a mellow 1970s California sound. The instrumental aspect of the music is subtle and tasteful. Check these guys out! Mike Ansaldo Associate Editor www.listen.com |
