Artist History
The band has enjoyed great success since its formation in 1994, gaining international recognition with highly acclaimed CD releases on Newmarket (Australia), Jazz Crusade (USA) and P.E.K. Sound (England). In 1997 the band toured extensively throughout Europe and then England. The overwhelming success of that tour resulted in an even more extensive 1998 tour. The Shakers toured twice to Europe and England in 1999, again performing at such high profile festivals as Haugesund (Norway), Gothenburg and Kungshamn (Sweden), Bude and Keswick (England) plus many other festival and club dates. The band has performed in England, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. A fixture on the Australian jazz scene, the Shakers have featured regularly at such prestigious jazz festivals as Manly, Thredbo, Wangaratta, Melbourne International, Apollo Bay and many others, as well as touring interstate. |
