Artist description
the DiVinE... the poster boy's of alt.sex.fetish... the "Barbie doll's" of the underground industrial goth world... armed with crunching guitars, pounding drums loops, melodic vocals, sinful synths, complete with their own make-up case and extensive wardrobe... these bitches have everything... the DiVinE bring the glamour, glitz, and showmanship back to the forefront... setting their standards high...tired of seeing the same brand of baggy pants, boring stage shows and senseless lyrics that have become the norm in the rock/rap/punk hybrid world of modern alternative music, the DiVinE strive to break that mold... confession is open... share your sins with the gods lust, greed, sex and death, and experience a pleasure that is DiVinE |

Artist History
The June 1999 release of ALL THINGS GOD LIKE saw the band kick off their first tour in DIVINE fashion as they transformed their hometown into a haven for the alt.sex.fetish obsessed. Numerous stops at Barrie's Foundation Niteclub, as well as Club 220 allowed the band to further hone their skills and develop a cult following. the DIVINE then packed their bags and headed south for Toronto. Opening slots for Clan of XymoX, as well as Rhea's Obsession, allowed the band to foresee the future. The Tour closed out (Jan 29th 2k) in dramatic fashion at club 220 as the wanting crowd bid farewell to their hero's as they headed for the studio.
July 20th 2k, saw the underground open as the sinthetic gods began the MY PATH OF SELF DESTRUCTION TOUR. A now complete package the divine played countless shows in Ontario, highlighted by shows with, Robin Black And The Intergalactic Rock stars, and The Weekend. Stops on the tour included Lee's Palace Toronto, Club 36 Alliston, the Reverb Room Toronto, The El Mocambo Toronto, And Wylders North Bay. This tour also included the divine's first appearance at Freedom Fest. The conclusion of the tour came on aug. 17th 2k1 at the 360 RCL club.
Since the release of Sinthetic Inside on September 4th 2k1 THE DIVINE have once again used the live scene to support their latest effort. In November 2k1 THE DIVINE opened a home town show for Cleavage. The next stop saw them setting the tone for the Preaching to the Perverted tour featuring Pigface, Godhead and Gravity Kills at Toronto’s legendary Opera House.
THE DIVINE continue to impress show promoters, club booking agents as well as club staff with their high level work ethic and dedication to their craft. The band can always be found on the streets and at the clubs promoting their next show with flyers, promo cd’s and other give away items.

Press Reviews

At times it has kind of a Massive Attack type vibe to it. The song definitely is dark and haunting"..."My God, they brought back Bauhaus! This song has the kind of originality i have not heard since peter murphy. steady rhythm hooks you, then keeps into the song."... "pretty intense for a mellow song."... |
