    Artist History
Scott began writing music at age 9, and went on to major in Music at U.C. Berkeley. At Berkeley, he studied composition under Edwin Dugger, a pupil of the great composer Roger Sessions. Scott's compositions- mostly neo-romantic pieces for piano or small ensemble- were regularly performed at concerts on campus. His piece for large chorus, "Trail of Stars," was premiered by the University Chorus and Joseph Jennings, the director of the Grammy award-winning group, Chanticleer. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, with Distinction, Scott travelled to Hong Kong, where he worked at Polygram Records as a songwriter. His song for the opening ceremony of the main temple at Chi Lin Nunnery, "Jing Fa Hong Gaan," was performed by two of Hong Kong's most popular singers, peaked at No. 6 on the local radio charts and is sold throughout Asia. "Jing Fa Hong Gaan" is still sung every morning by the children and nuns at the temple. Since relocating to Southern California for his music career, Scott has been hard at work on his acoustic pop songs. Although his musical taste and compositional expertise is broad, he is devoted to pursuing straightforwardness in his self-expression. Scott aims to share himself with others through his music and hopes that his songs will be instantly recognizable as sincere, passionate and memorable.
