Artist History
It was late summer of 1994, when fate brought Lead Guitarist, John Romero, and Bass Guitarist, Ken Richmond, together to form the band Roman Fingers. They had joined two other local musicians to perform at a local venue for one appearance only. The following two weeks changed everything -- by the time the band hit the stage for their one appearance, Ken was hooked. The music, mostly written by John, was a veritable powerhouse of style and finesse as it became apparent that the alliance of John's guitar and Ken's Bass were meant to be. Over the next year and a half, it became evident that Roman Fingers needed a solid drummer whose talent and ability matched John and Ken. Amazingly, there existed such a drummer. With the addition of Frank King in March 1996, the final component was in place to complete the power trio. The three bring Style, Punch and Power to the table creating a fresh, clean, powerful sound referred to as "High Energy Rock" by their many local fans. Their sound leaves the typical Seattle sound of Grunge in the past, and replaces it with positive attributes and phrases listeners will remember. |

THE STYLE: John Romero--Guitar/Vocals, A Native American of the S'Klallam Tribe, born and raised in Kitsap County, writes a majority of the music and lyrics on the band’s current play list. John says, "Why write a bad song?" He draws much of his guitar style from the likes of Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, and Steve Vai, to mention only a few. His writing is inspired by his heritage giving each song significance and feeling which can be interpreted individually by each listener. THE PUNCH: Ken Richmond--Bass/Backup Vocals, An Irishman born in Iowa and raised in California, settled in Kitsap County in 1992, after many years of playing the San Francisco/Bay Area circuit. Ken's main focus in life is Music; his hobby is Music; and his only goal in life is to play Music for thousands of people. In fact, Ken pretty much lives, breathes and sleeps Music. The Bass player's technique can be attributed to his fondness for such "greats" as Nick Mason, Getty Lee, and Jack Bruce for the most part. THE POWER: Frank King--Drums, Born in Tijuana, Mexico, his mother gave birth to him in a cardboard shelter (for real). They were then taken across the border in a '57 Chevy, escorted by the police to a hospital where he was adopted at one-day old. Frank's first brush with fame happened at age five when he and his brother and sister sang on a radio program for his father (a Baptist Minister). Frank's powerful approach to drums is influenced mostly by John Bonham, Keith Moon, and Neil Peart. |
