Artist History Formed in 1995 as a result of the declining hard rock scene. "We wanted to get out of the typical grunge/metal rut that a lot of popular music was stuck in. To move to blues and funk and other more open styles of music to express our creativity was a natural progression." Since their formation, Mississippi Cactus has had the pleasure of performing with many great artists like B.B. King, The Mothers of Invention, Jeff Beck, Vince Welnick, The Funk Brothers, Merl Saunders, Kenny Wayne Shepard and The Fabulous Thunderbirds
