Music Notes/Chris PageFiled: 06/01/2001 With a name like the Moosehead Band, it's obvious Kenny Walters and his gang of good-time musical compadres aren't looking to change the world through song. But it's that very lightness, a willingness to belt out a country-fried tune like Walters' "Fooled Around in Fresno" ("I don't know where it all started/I guess we were both broken hearted/and I never intended my feelings to show/when we fooled around in Fresno"), that has kept the Moosehead Band going for 20 years strong, opening up for acts like Asleep at the Wheel and John Anderson. The Moose herd -- which includes Ernie Sage, Robert Flores and Terry Huston on a plethora of instruments -- is celebrating its anniversary out in Woody on Saturday with a noon-to-moon shin-dig full of music, memories and munchies at the 21-and-over Belly Up Bar (29211 Woody Road). For more information about the gig, call 536-8900.But that's not enough. Walters, a firefighter, is starting the celebration off by walking the 30 miles or so to Woody. He supposedly left Thursday morning for the jaunt.Yes, everyone thinks he's odd for attempting the stunt -- even folks at the bar and in the band. Even Walters himself thinks it's out there. (It doesn't help his sanity whatsoever that Walters sent me an e-mail totally in the third person, saying, "He's so crazy!!!")Those not wanting to go out of town this weekend to experience the musical majesty that is the Moose will have to wait until July 10, when the group plays the Valley Plaza's Thursday evening Family Concert Series.
