With comparisons drawn from Ben Folds, Eels and Squeeze to John Prine, Ron Sexsmith and Elliot Smith, Kirk's music covers a lot of stylistic ground while maintaining a unique sound." Kirk is a full time musician who has been spotted sharing his songs at many open mics across Florida, the occasional pub in Scotland, some rare opening spots here and there and doing off the wall covers with his working band Monty The Horse. Enjoys listening to Bill Frissel, Thelonious Monk and anything produced by Mitchell Froom. Loves writing songs and recording more than performing, eating or just about anything. Kirk's first CD "Riverstones" is a collection of songs influenced by travels in the UK. Swirling acoustic and raw electric guitars, percussion (with sparse use of the drum set)and the occasional organ paints a pastoral soundscape which will appeal to folkies and alternatives alike. His second "Pistol Whipped With A Popgun" is an all out power pop extravaganza. Strong lyrics and adventurous chord progressions and soaring melodies make for Kirk's most ambitious and accessible effort to date.
