Artist description
"Frame by Frame" is Enoch Peter Gamoian's debut CD of original music. It is also the debut installment in a series of musical explorations called instrumental fiction. Instrumental fiction provides a sonic landscape that invites listeners to follow their own paths, bring forth their own unique stories and create their own motion picture for the soul. Full of drama and tenderness, sadness and joy, reflection and anticipation, "Frame by Frame" is the result of the composer's personal experiences and inner journeys. It can also be the inspiration for conjuring your own stories or reflecting on your own experiences--day by day, moment by moment, frame by frame. |

Artist History
The son of a professional Middle Eastern musician, Enoch Peter Gamoian was reared on a steady diet of Armenian, Turkish, Bulgarian, Arabic and Greek music. Live sessions in the Gamoian living room were commonplace, with a very young Enoch occasionally sitting in. Possessing perfect pitch, the gift of playing by ear, and a fearless penchant for electronic music, Gamoian ventured far from his early foundation of world music and at the age of 13, officially began his career as a drummer for a band who was popular on the campus of Fresno State. Thus began a career which spanned Rock, Country, Jazz, Pop, Blues and Funk, in which Gamoian played keyboards, drums, bass, guitar, and flute. Although Gamoian continued to experiment with mainstream music, he was always pushing the envelope with original compositions. While pursing a Bachelor’s degree in literature, Gamoian created a project that put a recording studio on stage, not to record, but to play originals and covers using a mix of live and multi-tracked recordings. And this was a few years before MIDI and the other wonders of the digital domain made such things practical. The project was called Widescreen. Widescreen gained a modest, but wildly faithful, following and received regular air play on Fresno’s progressive FM radio station, KFSR. Gamoian’s Widescreen project also gained the attention of the local CBS television affiliate, and he was asked to compose and produce the music for local programming. Full-time musicianship eventually gave way to graduate studies and career pursuits, and music was limited to composing in an ever-present home studio. A large and growing collection of work in various stages of completion (what Gamoian calls his “unfinished furniture”) captured the attention of a new friend from an English novel graduate seminar. Constance would quickly become Enoch’s best friend and, in late 1994, Enoch’s wife. Constance also became Enoch’s source of inspiration, his audience and finally, the producer of “Frame by Frame.” Gamoian currently resides in Fresno, California with his wife and producer, Constance and their "children," a little pound puppy (Pixel), two cats (Thisby and Mary Alice) and two cockatiels (Sagan and Jupiter). Gamoian has been successful in a number of "normal" professions, including his present one as Webmaster for the Central California NBC television network affiliate. Gamoian also writes a weekly humor column for the KSEE 24 Website, called E-Notes. When he's not in front of a computer, you can usually find Gamoian in the studio or enjoying life with his family at home or on the central coast of California. |
