Artist History
Cool King Chris began his regular appearances on "The Bob and Sheri Show" while he was the music director at the "Perch" comedy skit club in Charlotte N.C. His first live performance called "Green Means Go" appeared on the best of Bob and Sheri's album "Morning Breath". His second live appearance on the show produced the song "Dysfunctional Family Blues" which landed a place on their next best of album titled "Brains, Beauty and Bob". Cool King Chris left the Charlotte area for a short time but returned to complete his album of pop songs, produced by Jamie Hoover, and to continue to crank out his satirical and parody songs for" The Bob and Sheri Show". Cool King can be heard at least once a month as a regular musical guest on their show. A live performance of CKC would reveal some songs that (for obvious reasons of radio air play) Bob and Sheri could not permit him to play such as "Eunuchs", "Working at the Sperm Bank" and the ever dark and cutting song about modern media, "Everyday is the End of the World". "Steroids Dried up my Weeny" almost cost CKC his place on the show because many listeners were offended and called to complain. Many listeners, however, also called to say they had to pull over on the side of the road because they were laughing so hard!Cool King Chris rides a wave just on the edge of decency, but more often than not, the funniest thing about his songs is most of them ring out the truth. So let the bells ring out and the banners fly. From the Queen City there comes a King, and his name is Cool. |
