Artist description
William Smith is a singer-songwriter-guitarist based in Monmouth County, NJ, with two solo albums under his belt and a full-time gig teaching high school English. Inevitably, his lyrics incorporate literary references, and his wide range of musical influences inspires the use of altered tunings to help avoid the "strum and hum" syndrome of many folk artists. He can be seen and heard performing in cafés, bookstores, and other venues all over NJ and PA. |

Press Reviews
"Intelligent folk songs dramaturgically sung. These are well arranged compositions. William Smith (not to be confused with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air) incorporates sporadic literary references in many of his songs, but not with any of the salient pretension found inside the songs of many coffee shop performers. His acoustic guitar is refreshing in its recorded warmth and naturally reverberating tones." - Eric Shea, Listen.com |
