Artist description
"Deadline looms heavy but I gotta dash off a description of what has to be one of the best up and coming local bands around. Throw Rag are the fucking devil in disguise. True rock n' roll snake oil salesman who muster-up a mean combination of Robert Gordon meets the Cramps craziness...Throw Rag are sleazy big-top revival, and momma, pass the Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket offering plate, cuz these guys are the only answer to your filthy prayers. The songs have a creepy sorta David Lynch from Mars quality that defies description, cuz it's firmly rooted in psychobilly with enough punk to be dangerous." |

Press Reviews
"Martin McMartin took the words right out of my mouth when he said, "Throw Rag are L.A.'s most raging unsigned band." Their music hypnotizes me. When they play, I feel like I'm witnessing greatness. They are the Rolling Stones of my generation..." -Brenda Double (Flipside)"This show is also a great chance to see the scuzzy, ripped-out roots-rawk of Throw Rag, who ominously juxtapose throttling motorhead tempos with sub-Tom Waits-ish growls on their new CD." -Falling James (L.A. Weekly)"Such touring acts as Seattle's Zeke (who just signed a three-record deal with Epitaph), Vancouver's Hanson Brothers and recent expats Billyclub (featuring members of the U.K. Subs and the Exploited) have performed at the Clipper, along with such O.C. locals as U.S. Bombs and Throw Rag (soon to be the next big thing out of Costa Mesa)." -Heidi Siegmund Cuda (The Los Angeles Times) |
