Artist History
The Ravelers were founded in Wilmington, NC in 1987 by Mike Brown (vocals, guitar, keys) and Chris Elmore (vocals, guitar) and have survived through years of living hell(!), going through a Spinal Tap-esque array of band members and various other obstacles before releasing the Jamie Hoover produced 'So Long...' CD. Now residing in Charlotte, NC, Mike, Chris, Paul and Otis recently released the "Prom Queen" EP to stave off the masses clamoring for the next full length CD which will be released.....................eventually.

Press Reviews
The Ravelers carry on the sonic tradition of the Silver Sixties. Their version of reality works for me. CHECK IT OUT! - Kim Fowley -----Famed producer Kim Fowley is right-on with his praises of the Ravelers "So Long..." CD. The Ravelers combine the finest elements of vintage pop - from the Beatles to XTC - with a '90's rock vibe that more than matches the exuberance of groups like REM. The thoroughly enjoyable So Long... is an album to play again and again. - Time And A Word ----- "So Long..." is a wonderful CD. The sound is electric minstrel pop, with debts paid to early Moody Blues, the Byrds, and XTC. The band's songs have a subtle grace about them and the overall attention to detail makes this some of the most satisfying, listenable stuff around. They just don't make 'em like this anymore! - The Charlotte Observer |
