Artist History
Hailing from Santa Cruz, and now living in the sunny redneck enclave of Chico, California, PAWNS knock audiences upside the head with a unique, political old-school punk style reminiscent of Crass, Half Empty and other impressive bands. Their first two releases have intense yet satirical songs about punk posturing, work, sex, war, consumerism, cops and the daily grind, with unusual male-female tagteam vocals courtesy of singers Warren Sides and St. Ann. The band recently went through some lineup changes. Varlet Rabblen and Warren Sides are no longer with the PAWNS, although they are featured on the Sacrifice CD-EP. The band now consists of the three other original members and new bass player, Bizquick. They have a brand new, and need I say excellent, 8-song CD-Ep. |
