    Artist History
1986 - Cousins Chris Shaw and Glenn Young from scenic Lynn, Mass formed the initial core of what would become a revolutionary band. This duo called themselves THREE $9 PAYMENTS. With Glenn's guitar prowess and Chris' signature synth sounds the band was invited to participate in the world renown 'moss' festival. 1987 - Later, in 1987 Chris and Glenn hooked up with drummer extraordinaire Larry Wright and Bassist Kevin Levesque, both from Peabody, Mass to form PLEASE DON'T ASK which was soon after changed to THESE FOUR WALLS. The band played extensively to Holiday Inn crowds number well into single digits. The band's real break came when they were invited to play the famous 'snaggly' arena. 1988 - With Chris away at college the three remaining members hooked up with singer Jeff Foss from Newburyport. The new group dubbed themselves THE END thinking they had found their final resting place with regard to line-up. Jeff's silky smooth vocal style gave the band the boost it needed to play such venues as Bishop Fenwick High, Newburyport High and The Holiday Inn Peabody! 1989 - 1989 was a very formative year for the band. In spring the band had a falling out with drummer Larry Wright who was ultimately ousted from the band. The remaining members tried to cover his parts using highly technological devices known as 'drum machines' for their upcoming gig at Steve Shea's Birthday Cookout, but soon realized a new drummer had to be found. That same year singer Jeff Foss introduced the band to drummer Alan 'J' Lefluer, also from Newburyport. The four band members went to hear J play at Newburyport's annual Yankee Homecoming Festival that August. The band was instantly smitten with J's frenzied, herky-jerky sounds. His cannon-like tom fills shot through the audience like a small under-pumped BB gun. Jay joined the band immediately. Two months later, Glenn received an demo tape from long-time friend Jaime Bernard of Lynn, Mass demonstrating Jaime vocal ability and ear for complex harmonies. Jaime's ear for melody and energetic charisma made the band realize that Jaime could be the missing link that would push the band to its next level. It was decided that Jeff's vocals were really not silky smooth at all. Jeff also missed numerous rehearsals due to other 'hobbies'. So Kevin was elected to oust Jeff from the band. With the addition of Jaime MR. FLOOD'S PARTY was born. The band had immediate successes in North shore area clubs. Most notable was their success in the Annual Rock 'N Roll Rumbles held at Grover's in Beverly. The band placed second in the 1990 rumble and actually won in 1991, beating out 28 other bands for the grand cash prize, an E.U. Wurlitzer sponsorship and recording studio time. The band continued playing in and around the Boston and the North shore with popular local bands such as The Heretix, Tribe, O+, Bim Skala Bim, Barrance Whitfield and the Savages, Cliffs of Dooneen, Letters to Cleo, The Zulus. The band played at many of Boston's (now defunct) hot spots like The Channel, The Paradise, Nightstage, TT The Bears Place, Club 3 and Venus Di Milo. All the while the band continued to write and record their own alternative-pop music ultimately a independently released single and two self-produced CDs (Click here for related press!)1997 - In 1997 singer Jaime Bernard found himself somewhat 'burnt out' on the band and its musical direction. He announced his departure in September to peruse other musical directions. Check out Jaime's current project, The Sacred Raisin Cakes. After auditioning many singers to take Jaime's place it turned out his replacement was right under their noses with long time number 1 fan Scott Holden. Scott was currently enjoying his own successes in his band Spot the Loony. This line-up represents the bands current incarnation.
