With theSeptember release of their first full-length album, Deita and her band, Idol Worship, plan on becoming the best known name in Goth music today. With the backing of award winning musicians, her innocently evil vocals and opinionated lyrics become even stronger. Take the album opener "Bible Belt." Over intense bass, Deita?s vocals of "The Bible is the Devil" and "Jesus Christ, you?re choking me" sound almost biblical as opposed to blasphemous. A real show of talent is in their remake of the classic Faith No More tune "Epic." The band manages to capture the exact sound of the original, but still add in their own feel and sound. The highlight of the album, though, and the most intrusive song into Deita?s being, is "On Your Knees." This song, despite its deep and dark sound, is every woman?s desire ? being worshipped for your body and soul. With an unmatched intensity, this band is poised to take the Gothic scene by storm.
