Artist description
Debris are a three piece from Melbourne, Australia. Debris’ music is one that transcends genres. Having such a diverse range of influences and with each member involved in songwriting, their music falls into a category of its own. Debris’ music demands attention, from a powerful, rhythmic bottom end that hits you in the chest to a catchy chorus that will stay with you. In all debris create a sound to be heard and felt. In order to make this original sound and to stand apart from other 3 pieces, debris utilise an 8 string octive bass and 202 sampler. In the live performance you can't miss Mick’s unique distorted, two string at a time attack from the hand-made 8 stringer: in the meanwhile Michael belts out his deep vocals and guitar over the top; while Justin controls the phrases from the sampler and keeps things in time with his hard hitting drumming. |

Artist History
Debris completed their totally independent debut EP ‘Daisy’ in May '99, aptly named after Daisy Duke- responsible for many fond childhood memories. Recently through the power of the internet debris promoted themselves to the national radio station ‘5FM’ in South Africa, in which track 3 ‘Grandpa’ achieved Number 2 position on their request based chart. This also led to a live web chat to South Africa. Debris also entered the Hard Rock Cafe, "Breeding Ground Competition99". Although not overall winners, they were selected to be in the top 16 bands from a choice of over 300. Debris were created in High School in about 1988 from a childhood dream of becoming rock stars and probably watching one too many Def Leppard or Van Halen videos. Michael, Mick and Justin have been friends for over 15 years and have formed the current line up in Debris for the past 6. |

His mostinfluential bands are The Tea Party and Soundgarden. draws much content for Debris music through his day job where tends to deal with people at their ugliest.Mick – 4 & 8 string bassMick’s 8 string bass was hand made, pretty much as you cannotbuy them off the shelf. He also built his own speaker boxes, wehope he doesn’t leave the band to start his own cabinet company. Most influential bands are Big Heavy Stuff and Crow.Justin – drums, Justin is the engine room of Debris, providing hard hitting drummingto compliment Mick’s unique sound.
