Artist History
Formed in 1991, after leaving BRUTALITY (in which Mausolus completely financed from 1986 to 1990 on his own with no help from the other band members, just wanted to make that clear) Astaroth has completed 3 demos. 1 in 1992 entitled "Lost State Of Dreams" or LSD, with good response. Follow up in 1995 "Songs Of Sorrow" or SOS with excellent response, sold out(we now have more). Then the band broke up for 4 years. In early 1998 guitarist/vocalist Mausolus teamed up with Thorn, backing vocals/engineer/lyricist. He then called upon the guitar talents of Demian, the lead guitarist on the LSD demo. The new current drummer is James Coker of BRUTALITY fame. Coker was not on the demo "Burning Christians" or BC. The drum parts were handled by Mausolus. Coker will be on the new demo to be released in late 2000 entitled "Absolute Damnation" or AD. Be assured that this follow up will totally crush BC and anything preceding it. Current line up is: Mausolus - Guitarist/Vocalist/Bass Thorn - Backing Vocals/Engineering Jim Coker - Drums A bass player is currently being sought for next years tour. 2 New song titles on new demo "Ashes And Snow", "Witches Sabbath" ( Nasty Savage cover song), etc. A full albums worth of material clocking in at about 40 minutes to be released on the Mega Rabbit Label later this year in the mean time all previous demos as well as the BRUTALITY demo "Metamorphosis" can be purchased by emailing the bands contact person. Thank You for reading this, Mausolus |
