    Artist History
Spacehopper were formed at the back end of 1999 originally as a three piece with a singing drummer. Despite favorable live reviews and positive reaction to thier first self released CD single it was clear that spacehopper's vision was not going to be achieved as a three piece Changes were made and Martin Townsend, an old school friend of the band joined on keyboards he was soon followed by Rich Millin on drums with Lee moving off drums and out front. This change provided the missing spark and they have not looked back since. Spacehoppers latest single 'colourless' got rave reviews (single of the month in scootering)and a lot of interest from both the public and the idustry has been generated off the back of this. At the beggining of the year the band signed a management deal and have played some great live shows including Radio2 fringe festival, Reading Uni and a tour of the South of England. Currently working on new material and on the verge of a deal.

    Press Reviews
James Anston from BBC Online - Oxford. Spacehopper arrived at the Backroom@the Bully with a mission: they are launching their single "Colourless" there on 28 May and wanted to get their blend of crafted pop over to as many people as possible. It wasn't hard: the place was packed to the rafters when they took the stage. The band kindly provided one of the rarer spectacles of the whole punt, Lee the singing drummer. Spacehopper have taken a dose of realism from the Radiohead stable and married it with the pop sensibilities of the Stereophonics. At times dark and brooding, others almost angelically buoyant, their music pleased the crowd. Spacehopper finished with Colourless, a brilliantly-constructed rabble rouser. From its opening swirling keyboard riff, the song took the crowd to a place where only good things can happen. Organ single review SPACEHOPPER "Silent Film" (Star Harbour) - A kind of big happy triumphant kind of Radiohead with a voice in their head telling them they're already dead in such a glowing hopeful Coldplay-save-the-world kind of way - hey, this is good for all the same glowing hopeful reasons Remy Zero are so good - dynamically refreshing, the b-side (which is actually billed as the double AA here) rocks out a hell of a lot more and works well as a second taste, might not have worked as the first taste but once they had us grabbed they were free to go and rock out - and by the time they get to all the big keyboard bits you'll all be think yes, I want more, this second track is as good as the first...... www.starharbour.co.uk logo magazine single review Starharbour Singles Club time again, and again Oxford Music Central has come up with a winner. Landing midway between the featherweight indie of Haven and bruising grandiosity of Witness, Spacehopper already sound like an indie supergroup, no mean trick as they barely deviate from the big guitars/big drum sound of the rest of the pack. Call it x-factor if you like, whatever it is Spacehopper have it.
