    Artist description
Pink Bob is a multi-instrumentalist / singer / songwriter / producer / engineer from Bloomington-Nomral, Illinois who has worked out of his home studio for as long as anybody can remember. Since 1984, Pink has released countless titles on the Home Recordings "label"/audio commune, both solo and with various groups. Pink's main interest from 1981-1986 was improvisation, while 1986-1995 saw him largely dedicated to (slightly) more conventional songs as well as MIDI instruments and sequencing. Since then, sequencing has been discarded and PB has expanded into a number of interests (see the links page). Pink currently plays QS 6.1, DX-7, ARP Quartet, Epiphone "Les Paul", Roland GR-30 Guitar Synth, Various cheap Danelectro Guitars, Theremin, Ukulele, Trumpet, Sousaphone, Fender short-scale P-Bass, kazoo, slide whistle, etc. This page will grow to include music from the mid-80s to present. Artist History
Pink Bob's first brush with the Bloomington/Normal underground was when he began working with Scott Lucas' and Brian Keys' band The Dits in 1981. By 1983 he was with the infamous circus-a-dada band Shmaz (along with both Lucas and Keys), followed by "Pink Bob's Stereo", The Sediments, and his debut solo cassette release in 1984. More Sediments and solo recordings followed over the next three years. In 1987 Pink co-produced the debut of local sensations The Something Brothers; he also contributed heavily to ex-Brother Skot Lee Wilson's "Old Ghosts Die Hard" project in '91-'92. Between 1993 and 1994 he worked with the legendary Tiny Tim and produced his critically-acclaimed "I Love Me" CD. From there, PB joined Mike Williams' band The Swingin' Hemphills in 1995, where he is still amusing audiences by playing everything from theremin to guitar synth in small local bars. In 1998 he led the rebirth of an all-new line-up of The Sediments and also co-founded The Chronomatics with his new Sediments partner Matt Seniff. More recently he has been working doing stage work with The Sediments and the revitalized Dits trio and remastering/archiving the countless hours of recording that has taken place over the last 20 years

    Press Reviews
LISTEN.COM had this to say about Pink Bob: "Madcap cartoon music, Fusion improvisation, lawnmower-like guitar noise, Post-Rock drone, Punk wail, and orchestral ambiance all find a welcome home in the eclectic musings of Pink Bob. Fractured, early Floyd-inspired psychedelic pop songs feature dense clusters of percussive effects; synth-Fusion tunes feature unconscionable baritone sax sounds; and classical compositions showcase a chorus of eight tubas. A mixed bag, to say the least.
