Artist History
Otherhood, self-proclaimed "Music for the Rejected!" Bio: The Nation’s Capitol has spawned some of the most influential Hardcore music, such as Minor Threat, Fugazi, Bad Brains, and Clutch, as well as countless Hip-Hop and Go-Go acts. From this breeding ground, Otherhood has exploded with a fury and intensity that only our generation could produce. /// The members of Otherhood come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and influences. This diverse group of musicians fuse together to create an eclectic sound of music that can only be described as Othercore; pure rage set to tight grooves that span a universe of moods and sounds. /// Otherhood recorded their four song debut in the Summer of 1999 with legendary producer Drew Mazurek, whose credits include Gwar, Nothingface, Jawbox, Dog Fashion Disco, Souls At Zero, and Wrathchild America. Thanks to Mazurek, the CD is a razor edged, high-energy glimpse of Otherhood’s powerful sound. Currently the band is recording new material with plans to once again shop to record labels. /// Nothing sets Otherhood apart from the pack more than their intense live show. Providing the audience with an all out musical assault, songs like “Pussy” and “Letter to A Friend” are guaranteed to fire up the pit. In addition to their fierce live show, Otherhood has a growing fan base that spans from NC to various parts of the World. With over 2,000 downloads a month on their MP3.Com site, and receiving recognition as one of the top 5 Unsigned bands in the U.S. on Farmclub television program [twice], Otherhood has demonstrated their appeal and ability to exceed their peers. /// As of December 2000, Otherhood has broken up. We would like to thank everyone that has supported us and helped the band to get where we got. I also want to wish all past Otherhood members (Krayle, Adam, James-Throwdown Syndicate, Mike C.-Rev 9, Rob-Another Side of Silence, Mark, Mikey-Mod Flanders Conspiracy, PL, and Sennen-X-Dog Fashion Disco) the best of luck with their endeavors. All things come to an end, but every ending is a new beginning. For information on new bands featuring ex-Otherhood members, e-mail OTHERHOOD@hotmail.com.
