Artist History
North was a concept long-held by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joseph Mancuso. In late 1995, Mancuso self-produced an experimental EP of six original songs under the project name "North". Over the next few years, while the EP found its way into the hands of friends and fellow musicians, composition and informal performances continued. In mid-1997, Markus Nee, bassist, guitarist and long-time friend of Mancuso, joined North as its second full-time member. The duo continued performing around the Ann Arbor area, and eventually caught the interests of percussionist Tom Sharpe, who joined the group in late 1998. The trio released their debut CD, Revolutions, in October of 1999, and continues to grow both musically and in popularity via their work in the Michigan and upper mid-West folk and acoustic rock music scenes. |
