Artist History
Formed in April 1999, Noah's Jetboat came together when Todd and Kirsty were jamming together, and decided that maybe something a little more organised would be a good idea. Needing a drummer and a vocalist, Todd happened to mention this to his flatmate, who mentioned that John might be interested in singing with the band. He was. So, three members, no auditions, no drummer. Realising that none of them knew any out-of-work drummers, an advertisement was placed in a few music shops around Wellington to see who was looking. The requirement was always for a person who would fit with the group, as well as having some musical ability. After auditioning two other drummers, Rick came into the frame. Three songs into the "audition", the band knew the fourth member had been found. Noah's Jetboat are primarily a cover's band, playing in pubs in the greater Wellington region, up as far as Palmerston North and Carterton, and playing for private functions when required. "Only In America" is the band's first foray into original compositions, but more are definitely on the way. November 2000, Kirsty and Rick decided to leave the band, and they were replaced by Clint and James respectivel |
