Artist History
When I first came to Tuskegee University in 1998 there was a strong hip-hop community. I couldn't walk from my room to the bathroom without a cypher breaking out. The student union was always crammed and the radio station always had someone flowing. When I came back in 1999 it seemed as if the comunity had left. There was no unity and no real unifying part. The only remaining part of it was the Lyrcist Lounge which was put on once a semester and ended up being mostly spoken word. The idea behind this album is to take the top emcees, and spoken word poets from Tuskegee University and put them on an album so that people can realize that TU can still show its hip-hop pride with the best. |
