Artist description The band “ALLAgallen” resides in Denver, Colorado but has quite a few international roots. Mark Gallen (who is half-Russian and speaks Russian) and John Mascarenas (Hispanic) have widely different cultural and musical backgrounds. The CD “Techno Whore” uses a wide mix of styles and international influences (Russian, Techno, blues, jazz, electronic, rock, etc.). Many other artists (pianist from Moscow, vocalist from the Ukraine, various American artists) have added to the over-all varied texture of the music. John Mascarenas has played in local cover bands. Mark Gallen has concentrated mostly on original band music in the studio since the late 70’s. The band vision is variety and change. Aren’t these key ingredients to interesting life experiences? ALLAgallen is slated to play around the Colorado area in December to help promote the music. A Hollywood film producer (with many high level connections in the entertainment industry) has joined forces with the band in soliciting the music for licensing in Film and TV. The music fro “Techno Whore” has a cinematic, wide-ranging feel. The original music is being considered presently for several possible TV and film projects. Top industry names (like Jonathan Demme, Barry Gasmer of Warner Brothers, and many others) have heard the material. It does not appear that people are on the fence regarding this refreshingly new different musical vision. Press Reviews Imagine a band that sounds like a re-mix album from Beck, that’s kind of what ALLAgallen sound like, but that still does not do it. With guitars, synths, drums, and all the other fixings, Techno Whore is truly a varied album. Residing in Denver Colorado, ALLAgallen’s vision is “variety and and change” and both those visions can be found on this album. With some really heavy riffs and the incorporation of other objects to make sounds with, and vocals that are soft when needed and in your face when needed this album might just be what your looking for when everything sounds the same. Since the ‘70’s Mark Gallen has been performing music and his experience really shows on this release.Techno Whore is being considered for movies and TV shows with it’s wide range of rock music. Top industry people are taking an interest in ALLAgallen’s music (Warner Brothers and a few others) and are looking into what is being called a “refreshingly new different musical vision”. This is an album that you will either love or hate, but either way, it is an album that disserves a listen, if you don’t like it the first time you listen to it, then after a few times you might find that it has grown on you. With their “refreshing” sound, it will be interesting to see where ALLAgallen goes in the future. One hit wonder, or, legend.
