Artist History So where did this silly name Moochapill come from anyway? Picture it: a dark Saturday night in 2001 at the Cardinal Bar in Madison, WI. The cast: Mikel, Ruby, Andrew, an Ecstasy supplier and an unnamable local celebrity. The scene: The characters are sitting at a table amongst the throng of the Madison 'urban-hipster' crowd. The surrounding valley-girl intellegentsia cast withering glances in their direction. The dealer is wearing a conspicuous hoody, and taking various party-goers outside to peddle his wares. At some point in the evening, said local celebrity says shiftily '...I will be right back' and follows the dealer out into the black night. 'I wonder where (unnamable local celebrity) is going?' Ruby asks. Knowing our friends' penchant for chemical joy, Mikel sighs 'probably out to mooch a pill'... Thunderbolts boom outside as Mikel and Ruby stare at each other and utter one glorious word in unison: 'MOOCHAPILL!'
