Artist History
Mblaze & Naje met in Los Angeles in the late 90's whilst pursuing video/3D music video projects at the height of the dot-com era.
Though both musicians had a history of bands including Naje's "Supervixens" and Mblaze's "Illuminatti", it was only after exploring the new visual art mediums that they decided to return to their first love of music and decided to work together on a music project.
Mblaze had previously provided programming/synthesis chops for Bond uber composer David Arnold on the movies Stargate & Last Of The Dogmen so wnated to pursue lush moeve-type soundscapes.
Their first electronica album project under 'Naje' titled "Cinephoniq" attracted intrest from the majors and movie placement, but ultimately they decided they wanted to move away from the saturated chill/downtempo scene towards a harder more guitar-driven rock sound.
Mblaze had paid his dues as keyboard player/guitarist in a number of UK hard rock bands and wanted to apply the new synthesis and sampling technology to aim towards a new kind of textural guitar sound using keyboard triggered gates and delays to get a much more modern "chopped" sound.
