Juan Medrano Cotito (far left), better known as "Cotito" the Cajon (Box) player for Susana Baca, was born in Lima Peru to parents originally from Chincha (a town on the coast of Peru well known for its African influence in music) Juan inherited his musical talent from his ancestors. He is a master of Afro-Peruvian and Peruvian Creole percussion. |
