Artist History "Three Red Flares" is the non de plume for J.R. Lichtman, an artist and producer currently residing in Toronto, Canada. He has previously lived in Europe and Africa, working in a wide variety of different professions... He began writing his distinctively quirky songs at a very young age, but only started to record around age 16. Lyrically, his material ranges from rather novel takes on classical relationship songs, to politics, and topics that nobody else would think of writing about. Somehow it all seems to work though... For the last ten years, J.R. Lichtman has played in a number of local Toronto bands, of a wide variety of different genres of music. Perhaps this might help explain the range of influences that are apparent in his material.
