Artist History Mingo Nine started in the summer of 2002 as a side project, at the time playing indie pop. The band only played a couple shows and then Mingo Nine became Mike Burns' solo project. In the summer of 2003 Mingo Nine made their first recording, The Cardboard Heart EP. The songs are all written by Mike Burns with help from friends on drums, violin, background vocals, and percussion.
