Artist description
In the beginning God, created the Heaven and Earth. While in his creative state, God created man, giving each man great gifts. God has blessed the world with a beautiful gift of sound, which is expressed through music. In our quest for music we must look at an individual that was fortunate enough to be blessed with such a gift. On May 13th 1966, in the heart of Brooklyn a genius was born. Who knew the conbributions this man named Elliott J. Straite A.K.A. Dr.Freeze would have on the world of music? Dr.Freeze would later became, The talented platinum hit Producer for “ Bell Biv Devoe, Color Me Badd, Good To Go, The Red Bandit, El Debarge, Jessie Powell, Michael Jackson, Soul Train Theme and many more.
Born of Puerto Rican and Black American parentage, Dr.Freeze grew up with two diverse musical influences. His Dad “. James Straite “ recorded records in the 50’s with his own singing group called “ The Young Lads & Pearl & The Deltars on Fury Records. While his uncle on his mother’s side “ Elliott Rodriguez “a great trumpet player and musician, played for various artists like, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Eddie Parmari, Ray Baretto, Tito Rodriguez, etc. etc.
While the Latin and traditional R&B influences surrounding him, his young mind was already being formed with musical diversity. On the streets of Brooklyn is where he nurtured his Rap and Hip Hop abilities. In school he was professionally trained in music and acting. Dr.freeze started singing at the tender age of four. And by the time he was ten years old, his dad had already helped him master notes and harmonies.
With no equipment except tape decks, he began Producing, Djing and Master mixing. Which is how he started. With the hunger in his heart Dr.Freeze started sending Master mix tapes to Radio stations such as, WBLS, 87.7 KISS FM, 92 WKTU FM, & WHBI. All were very hot at the time. These radio stations would give him the exposure and confidence to become the success that he is today.
After the success of Bell Biv Devoe, Color Me Badd, Dr.Freeze began starting his own album. His album has a new sound called “ Street Sex R&B or Hip Hop R&B “ Depending on the mood, Freeze vocals change like a chameleon. His backgrounds and harmonies can be comparing to those of, Take 6, Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, which also happens to be 2 of his favorite groups. You’ve made have already heard Freeze’s backgrounds harmonies of the Platinum hits he has produced such as, Poison, She’s Dope, Gangsta, ABC, I Wanna Sex you up, Break Of Dawn by Michael Jackson etc. etc.
Dr.Freeze now is bringing forth-new sound and New Hope for the future of music.
As far as his album? With his own world of music & singing speaks for itself as “ The Human Masterpiece.
Love & Peace Dr.Freeze *************“Thanks and Praise go to God for giving me the gift of music and allowing me to share it with others: Thank you: +)
