Artist History Rise From Ruin was formed in the summer of 2000 by Joe D.(guitar/vocals), Joe C. (bass), Matt G.(vocals), and Josh H. (drums). After playing shows for several months and some local touring we recorded a split 7" with our friends The Spirit of Versailles which was released on the Chiaroscuro label in February of 2001. After a short Spring tour Rise From Ruin went on hiatus for almost a year. Josh and Matt both left the band and were replaced so that the lineup by summer of 2002 was Joe D. (guitar/vocals), Joe C. (guitar), Jordan S. (bass/vocals), and Matt B. (drums). Under this second lineup Rise From Ruin recorded a demo with Robert Koons at Severe Sound Studios in Knoxville, Tn and played several local shows. We then re-recorded two of the songs from this demo for our split 7" with the German band Katyn on the Crucifados label which will be released sometime in fall of 2003.
